The Lagos State Coroner has called for the identification of missing persons between October 19 and 27, 2020.
The specified days cover the period of the violent hijack of the EndSARS protest, including the shooting of protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.
However; a public announcement reportedly signed by the Office of the Chief Coroner of Lagos State did not mention the EndSARS protest of the shooting of protesters at the Lekki tollgate.
The announcement requested anyone with a case of missing person to report to the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for the identification.
It noted that the request is in line with Section 15 of the Coroner’s System Law of Lagos State, 2015.
