The People’s Democratic Party in Lagos State has defended its leader, Chief OLABODE GEORGE over criticism by former governor of Ekiti State, AYO FAYOSE.
FAYOSE had during an outing by the PDP ahead of the Lagos East Senatorial District bye-election, called for the forced retirement of Chief GOERGE from politics.
But FAYOSE’s comment did not go down well with the Lagos PDP, which in turn gave him seven days to withdraw the comment.
Lagos PDP spokesman, TAOFEEK GANI, told Lasgidi FM News Desk that FAYOSE’s comment was capable of causing divisions within the party.
The Lagos PDP spokesman admitted that although the party would not punish FAYOSE if he failed to apologise, it it would give the party a clearer picture of where his loyalty lies.
