Lagos State Govt calls for entries for Graduate Internship Programme

The Lagos State Government has commenced enrolment for a graduate internship programme, which targets four thousand participants.

Each unemployed graduate enrolled for the Graduate Internship Placement Programme will be paid an allowance of forty-thousand-naira every month for a period of six months.

The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, YETUNDE AROBIEKE, said the programme is designed to give candidates the opportunity to develop skills in order to secure employment.

AROBIEKE said it is in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda and Youth Development Programme of the administration of Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU.

She said that at the end of the internship period, the participants would have gained valuable work experience, built up their professional skills and exposed to business opportunities.

The Commissioner said interested candidates must possess NYSC Certificates or letters of exemption, and must be registered residents with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency.

She said at least fifty organisations have already shown interest in employing undergraduates who complete the internship programme.
