Lawmakers ask police high command to investigate alleged murder of Dowen College student

The House of Representatives has called on the Inspector General of Police to take over the investigation of the death of Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni.

The federal lawmakers also want the authorities to place a travel ban on five senior students of the college who are alleged to have tortured Sylvester Oromoni to death.

The Green Chamber of the National Assembly took the decision following a motion moved by Representative Unyime Idem from Akwa Ibom State.

The House also called on the authorities to give proper attention to another incident involving fourteen-year-old Karen-Happuch Akpagher who alleged died from sexual assault at Premier Academy, Lugbe, Abuja.
