Lawyers ask Court to stop Lagos State Judicial panel on SARS

Two lawyers have filed papers in court to stop the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS and the shooting of EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate.

ADEKUNLE AUGUSTINE and SIMEON AKOGWU want the Federal High Court in Lagos to disband the panel because Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU is a party in the matter.

AUGUSTINE and AKOGWU claim that Governor SANWO-OLU did not exercise his power in the public interest by setting up the panel, himself being a party in the matter.

The court papers listed the Governor of Lagos State, State Attorney-General, and the Chairman of the panel as first, third and fourth defendants.

However; the Court has not set a date for hearing of the case.
