Malami declines to testify, as Ibrahim Magu dares his accusers

Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, IBRAHIM MAGU, has challenged his accusers to come up with evidence.

MAGU threw the challenge when he appeared before the Special Panel that is investigating allegations against him.

MAGU was responding to allegations that he collected bribe to allow one HIMA ABOUBAKAR who was facing investigation to escape justice in Nigeria.

He told the panel headed by Justice AYO SALAMI that he has never received any bribe from anyone, and demanded that anyone with such evidence should produce it.

IBRAHIM MAGU is facing allegations of abuse of office and mismanagement of recovered assets and finances of the Federal Government.

Meanwhile; the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, has refused to testify before the panel that is investigating suspended EFCC Acting Chairman, IBRAHIM MAGU.

MALAMI made his position known in a letter to the Presidential Panel headed by Justice AYO SALAMI, after MAGU’s lawyers asked the panel to invite him for testimony.

However; MALAMI is reported to have told the panel that he would not be able to appear because of the privileges of his office, although he had made known his intention to testify two weeks earlier.

One of MAGU’s lawyers, TOSIN OJAOMO, who confirmed the change of heart by the Attorney General, said they were all shocked about the decision.

OJAOMO was quoted as saying that he was shocked that the AGF would refused to clarify the allegations he levelled against MAGU.
