Minister confirms low-key celebration of Nigeria @ 60

The Minister of Information and Culture, LAI MOHAMMED, has said the celebration of Nigeria’s sixtieth independence anniversary will not be done in a big way.

LAI MOHAMMED told newsmen in Abuja the decision of the government to scale down the celebration is because of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However; MOHAMMED said the Diamond Jubilee celebration would last for a whole year, terminating at the end of September, 2021.

Recall that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had during the Federal Executive Council meeting last week, launched the official logo for Nigeria At Sixty, with the theme: Togetherness.

Meanwhile; some Nigerians who spoke with Lasgidi FM’s CHUKWUEMEKA OBIOMA around Orile-Iganmu and Surulere complained about the condition of public infrastructure, as the nation prepares to mark sixty years of independence.

Another set of people told our man than they want President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to improve on the economy so as to create jobs and to encourage young people with positions in his government.
