More details emerge on Nigerian Defence Academy deadly attack

More details have emerged on the deadly attack at the headquarters of the Nigerian Defence Academy in Afaka, Kaduna State.

One of the military officers killed by the attackers has been identified as Flight Lieutenant Chinecherem Okoronkwo.

The attackers, who were dressed in military uniform, killed Flight Lieutenant Okoronkwo and another officer in the residential area of the NDA.

The NDA spokesman, Major Bashir Jajira also confirmed in a statement that the bandits abducted another officer following the attack in the early hours of yesterday.

Meanwhile; the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, says the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna is more of a criminal action associated with the normal banditry.

General Lucky Irabor also said the Nigerian military was already dealing with the matter.

The Chief of Defence Staff shared his views in Yola, Adamawa State, during a meeting with retired senior military officers in the North-East Geopolitical Zone.

General Lucky Irabor also used the opportunity to dismiss fears by some persons over the mass surrender and planned reintegration of suspected terrorists in the North-East.
