NEC to set up special panel on ENDSARS panel reports

The National Economic Council has started receiving reports from the various panels set up by state governments to investigate allegations against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.

This was made known at the meeting of the National Economic Council, which was chaired by Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

During its 117th meeting, which was held virtually, the NEC also decided that it would set up a special session to review reports from the various EndSARS panels.

The spokesman for the Vice President, Laulu Akande, recalled in a statement that it was the NEC that recommended the setting up of the EndSARS panels by state governments.

Meanwhile; the NEC also inaugurated the National Road Safety Advisory Council, which is chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
