A major shakeup has been carried in the leadership of the Nigerian Army, with senior officers assigned to new positions.
About fourteen senior officers were moved from various positions, including Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, who is now the Director of Army Public Relations.
The changes were made a few days after the new Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Farouk Yahaya, held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement by the Directorate of Army Public Relations noted that the Chief of Army Staff took the decisions in a bid to reposition the Army.
