Nigeria customs service generates 2.2 trillion naira revenue in 2021

The Nigeria Customs Service says it collected two point two trillion-naira revenue in 2021.

Customs Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attach, who disclosed this in a statement, said the amount exceeded the year’s target of one point six trillion naira representing forty-three-point four percent rise over the one point five trillion naira collected in 2020.

Attah said the service revenue generation profile has continued to be on the rise annually due to strict enforcement of extant guidelines by the tariff and trade department.

The NCS also noted that robust stakeholder sensitization resulting in more voluntary compliance contributed to the huge revenue collection.
