Nigerian Army renames operation Lafiya Dole

The Nigerian army has renamed operation Lafiya Dole, the codename for its operation to flush out Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the northeastern part of the country to operation Hadin Kai.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, disclosed this in a statement.

Yerima said the renaming to Hadin Kai, which means ‘cooperation’, is in line with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru of having a Nigerian Army that is repositioned to professionally defeat all adversaries in a joint environment.

This is the third name the operation has changed its name since inception.

Immediate past Army Chief, Tukur Buratai, had in 2015 changed the name from operation Zaman Lafiya to operation Lafiya Dole.
