Nigeria’s Amina Mohammed, has been retained for another term as the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.
UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, approved the reappointment of Amina Mohammed, who is Nigeria’s former Minister of the Environment.
Guterres also gave Amina Mohammed a charge to coordinate development activities of the UN, in what is considered the most ambitious reform in the history of the organization.
The UN disclosed in a statement that the leadership of Amina Mohammed helped to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
