Ohanaeze faults rumour of planned IPOB attacks in Lagos

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has faulted the claim by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, that the Indigenous People of Biafra is planning to launch attacks in Lagos.

President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor  advised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ignore the rumour.

Professor Obiozor told Governor Sanwo-Olu during a meeting yesterday that Ndigbo are not agents of destruction, but help to build wherever they find themselves.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Lagos House in Marina, the leader of the Pan-Igbo group said the rumour was meant to cause division, crises and conflict among Lagos residents.

Professor Obiozor also declared that violence in any part of Lagos is violence against everyone, adding that Ndigbo cannot indulge in any act that would harm the peace and cordial relationship between Igbo and Yoruba, especially in Lagos.
