Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the nomination of Senator Olalekan Balogun as the Forty-Second Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Governor Makinde’s approval follows the recommendation of Senator Balogun by the Olubadan-in-Council.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa; Governor Makinde wished the new Olubadan a peaceful and eventful reign.
Meanwhile; the Aliiwo Family in Ibadan has welcomed the confirmation of Olalekan Balogun as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a statement signed by the head of the Mogaji Agba, Daud Balogun; the Aliiwo Family also thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for confirming the nomination of the new Olubadan.
Daud Balogun noted that sons and daughters of the family, both at home and abroad, were happy about the development.
He said that the appointment of the new Olubadan marks seventy years since the family produced the Olubadan, in the person of late Oba Memudu Ejalonibu Okunmade Aliiwo.
