Police arrest leaders of rival motor part touts over Idumota violence

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two factional leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Union on the Lagos Island.

The men, identified as Kunle Poly and Sego, were picked up in connection with the violence around the Idumota area of Lagos on Thursday last week, which claimed the life of at least one person and disrupted commercial activities in the area.

The RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi led the operation for the arrest of Kunle Poly and Sego, while both men were attending a meeting.

A statement released by the Lagos State Police Command indicates that the suspects have been transferred to the Zone Two Police Command at Onikan.
