Police deploy more personnel to southern Kaduna over attacks

The Kaduna State Police Command has deployed more troops to Southern Kaduna following Sunday night attacks on Agban Kagoro in the Kaura Local Government Area of the state.

The attack which the state government said happened in four locations of Tsonje, Agban, Katanga and Kadarko claimed thirty-four lives including two soldiers while over two hundred houses were burnt.

The incident sparked protests, forcing the state government to slam a twenty-four-hour curfew on Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas.

The Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige in a statement said the deployment became necessary considering the unpredictable nature of such clashes in the past and the attendant consequences.
