President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the installation of integrated security surveillance and monitoring system for the Abuja-Kaduna railway line.
President Buhari issued the directive after a meeting with Service Chiefs at the State House in Abuja following the Monday night terror attack on a passenger train.
One of the spokesmen for the President, Garba Shehu, who confirmed the development in a statement, said the security surveillance is to be extended to the Lagos-Ibadan railway line.
Shehu said the President also directed the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation to quickly repair the damaged Abuja-Kaduna rail line and resume operations immediately.
