President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has pledged the commitment of the Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in ensuring peace, stability and progress in the Lake Chad region.
President BUHARI also called on the international community to support Chad on its transition from military to democratic rule in a peaceful manner, over the next eighteen months.
President BUHARI shared his views at the opening of the Extraordinary Summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in Abuja.
The Nigerian leader also used the occasion to praise the Multinational Joint Task Force, as well as the armed forces, security and intelligence agencies of member countries for their efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
