The House of Representatives has ordered an investigation of the controversial security advisory for members of the National Youth Service Corps.
The House took the decision following widespread complaints by Nigerians over the advice to NYSC members to prepare their families to pay ransom if they get kidnapped.
The House Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu, who moved the motion, read out some sections of the NYSC Security Awareness and Education Handbook, which contained the advice.
The PDP lawmaker from Delta State said the NYSC advisory to young Nigerians on national assignment shows that security has totally collapsed in the country.
