Rising Covid-19 cases threatens Brazil’s health system

Brazil’s health system is facing increasing pressure and at the risk of collapse due to the growing number of Covid-19 cases.

Brazil’s leading health institute warns that more than eighty percent of intensive care unit beds are occupied in the capitals of twenty-five of the country’s twenty-seven states.

Brazil has so far recorded more than two hundred and sixty-six thousand Covid-19 deaths, out of eleven million cases since the pandemic began.
