Schools in Lagos closed, as ENDSARS protest worsen

The Lagos State Government has directed all students in public and private schools to stay at home.

The directive is in response to the tension created by the EndSARS protests, which worsened yesterday, as most major roads across the state were blocked by protesters.

The Commissioner for Education, FOLASADE ADEFISAYO, announced in a statement that the safety of pupils, students, parents and schools staff is important at this time.

Meanwhile; the Lagos State Government has confirmed that some policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad were wounded in attacks by EndSARS protesters on Herbert Macaulay and Alapere.

Following the development; the State Government warned that the Administration of Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU does not accept violence in any form.

The Government warned all those behind the incidents of violence to stop them, adding that it would not allow any breakdown of law and order in Lagos.
