Sen. Abe speaks on withdrawal of Police, Oyigbo Siege

The Police High Command has been criticized over the withdrawal of policemen attached to some important personalities.

Former member of the National Assembly, Senator MAGNUS ABE, who was also affected by the decision, said it was wrong for the action of the police to have been announced to the public.

Senator ABE, who is from Rivers State, said the police have succeeded in exposing those whose police escorts were withdrawn to security risk.

Senator ABE who is presently a member of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, said if private security guards were allowed to carry arms, it would reduce pressure on the Nigeria Police Force.

On the allegations of massacre in Oyigbo, Rivers State; Senator ABE said the banned IPOB was determined to destroy Nigeria, and the threatening the commercial interest of the Igbo nation.
