The Nigerian Senate has confirmed President MUHAMMADU BUHARI’s appointment of eight new Justices of the Supreme Court.
They are Justices LAWAL GARBA, HELEN OGUNWUMIJU, ABDUL ABOKI, M. M. SAULAWA, ADAMU JAURO, SAMUEL OSEJI, TIJANI ABUBAKAR, and EMMANUEL AGIM.
The confirmation comes a week after President BUHARI sent the names of the new Supreme Court Justice to the upper chamber of the National Assembly for consideration.
The Senate confirmed the appointments after considering the report of the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, which was presented by the Senator OPEYEMI BAMIDELE.
