Two soldiers have died in an attack by gunmen at their checkpoint in Adani community of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Nigerian Army troops were sent to Adani to stop the violent activities of gunmen, who are thought to be linked to the Eastern Security Network.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed in a statement that the remaining troops were able to fight off the gunmen.
Brigadier-General Nwachukwu appealed to members of the public to support the effort of the security agencies with useful information on the movement of criminals.
