Al-Qaeda remains a threat – U.S. Military Chief

The Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley has warned that al-Qaeda terrorists in Afghanistan could threaten the US in as little as twelve months.

General Milley told US Congress that the Taliban have not broken ties with the terrorist group that is responsible for the nine-eleven attacks on the United States.

The hearing, held by the Senate Armed Services Committee, comes weeks after a chaotic withdrawal at Kabul airport as foreign powers sought to get their citizens home.
