American leaders pay tribute to Colin Powell

American leaders have been paying tributes to former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin Powell, who died of Covid-19 complications aged eighty-four.

Leading the tributes is President Joe Biden, who described late Colin Powell as a dear friend with the highest qualities of both warrior and diplomat.

On his part; former President George Bush said Powell was a great public servant, a family man, a friend, and a favourite of presidents.

In a separate messaged on his Facebook page, another former US President, Barack Obama, wrote beautiful things about late Colin Powell.

He said the late General was an exemplary soldier and patriot, who was at the center of some of the most important events during his lifetime.
