The Nigerian Army has denied claims that terrorists are now in control of Damasak town, headquarters of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, following an attack on Tuesday night.
The Nigerian Army spokesman, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, described such reports as pure lies and misinformation.
Brigadier General Yerima said troops are in total control of Damasak, just as he showed a video in which the Commander of Five-Brigade, Brigadier-General Tilawan, is seen driving around the town.
