Bayelsa State gives cattle owners 14 days to embrace ranching

The Bayelsa State Government has given cattle owners in the state fourteen days to put them in ranches or move them out of the state.

Cattle owners who failed to comply with the two-week deadline and whose cows are seen moving about for grazing would have their animals impounded.

The government directive was passed down through the Bayelsa State Livestock Management Committee to members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, David Alagoa, who doubles as chairman of the committee, made this known after a meeting with representatives of the cattle breeders’ association.
