CAF launches investigation into Cameroon stadium stampede

The Confederation of African Football has launched an investigation into the death of eight persons following a stampede at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon.

The incident happened during the Africa Cup of Nations round-of-sixteen game between the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and their rivals from Comoros.

President Paul Biya of Cameroon has also ordered a separate investigation of the incident.

Meanwhile; the Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé will no longer be used for the Africa Cup of Nations quarter final match on Sunday.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe said the game has been moved to Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium also in Yaoundé.
