The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is maintaining silence on the death of one of two brothers who were detained at its Lagos Zonal Office in Ikoyi.
Late Bright Etti and his elder brother, Brilliant Etti, were arrested by EFCC operatives in Lekki last Saturday on suspicion of internet fraud.
Brilliant later told Lasgidi FM News Desk that while they were in detention, some operatives took his brother away.
He said after a while, the operatives returned and informed him that his brother, Bright drank a liquid substance and died.
Brilliant also gave our correspondent the telephone contact of an EFCC operative handling their case, but the officer identified simply as BUHARI could not provide any information.
Recall that when we called EFCC spokesman in Abuja, Wilson Uwujaren, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, but he denied knowledge of the arrest of the ETTI brothers and the death of the younger sibling.
We have also made another attempt to reach Uwujaren for confirmation and an update on the case of the Etti Brothers, but he did not answer calls to his mobile phone line on the second day.
Meanwhile; the body of late Bright Etti has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation of the Lagos State Police Command at Panti, where the father of the boys, Festus Etti said they have been asked to approve an autopsy on the body.
