DSS claims wrong identification in detention of media activist, Lanre Arogundade

Operatives of the Department of State Services have released media activist, Lanre Arogundade, after he was detained at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.

Arogundade, who is the Executive Director of the International Press Centre, arrived at the airport from The Gambia after attending a training organized by the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organisation, UNESCO.

President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mustapha Isah, told Lasgidi FM News Desk that the DSS operatives claimed they picked up Arogundade based on mistaken identity.

However; the Nigerian Guild of Editors President noted that the incident of yesterday was not the first time that Arogundade was being detained by the DSS, but said it should be the last.
