Federal Government donates new barrack to Nigeria Police Force

The Federal Government has donated a new barrack to the Nigeria Police Force, which is located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The barrack is for the Special Protection Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, and it comes with sixty-six apartments, among other facilities.

The new police barrack was donated through the Niger Delta Development Commission, under the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

The contract for the new police barrack was first awarded in 2012, and after nine years, Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, travelled to Port Harcourt to officially opened the barrack.

Professor Osinbajo who spoke on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, declared that the completion of the project shows the commitment of his administration to the welfare of police personnel.

Speaking further; Professor Osinbajo maintained that the Buhari Administration remains committed to improving security in the country, adding that there can be no development without security.
