Fire has destroyed a section of the Kano State secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Eyewitnesses told newsmen that the fire started at about 9:30AM, and it affected the Data Processing Centre of the INEC secretariat.
An official who spoke with journalists on the extent of the damage, confirmed that computer laptops and desktops were burnt.
However; the INEC official said the Smart Card readers are safe, while the commission will make use of its data base to recovered lost information.
