Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appealed to Fulani herders not to carry AK-47 rifles.
Governor Mohammed made the call in his address at the flag-off of the annual livestock vaccination campaign in Bauchi State.
Addressing a gathering at the Galambi Cattle Ranch, the Governor also encouraged cattle herders be peaceful.
Governor Bala Mohammed had been facing strong criticism after he defended Fulani herdsmen who are armed with rifles, but later said it was a figure of speech.
