Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has visited the Apongbon area of Lagos Island, where fire destroyed some shops and damaged a section of the Apongbon Bridge.
Governor Sanwo-Olu visited the area five days after the disaster, and three days to the expiration of the government deadline for occupants of all illegal structures located under bridges in Lagos to vacate.
Some traders who are facing the eviction notice of the Federal and Lagos State governments staged a protest yesterday before the arrival of the governor.
However, Governor Sanwo-Olu insisted that the enforcement of the eviction notice would begin from tomorrow.
