Gunmen have kidnapped a foreigner at Igbemo-Ekiti in Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, and it happened three months after abduction of another foreigner in November last year.
Following the development, the Ekiti State Police Command has banned unauthorized use of covered number plates, blaring of siren and use of revolving lights by unapproved persons.
In a statement confirming the decision, the Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo, noted that the abuse of the security privileges has become a threat to security in Ekiti State.
