Igboho drags FG before FHC over DSS raid

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has made good his threat to drag the Federal Government to court over the raid of his home in Ibadan, Oyo State, by operatives of the State Security Service.

Recall that the spokesman for the Department of State Service, Peter Afunanya, confirmed that operatives killed two persons, arrested thirteen others and recovered automatic rifles and ammunition during the raid in the early hours of Thursday last week.

Eight days after that incident, Sunday Igboho’s lawyer, Yomi Aliyu, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, told newsmen that he had filed an action before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Among other demands, Yomi Aliyu, said they are asking the court to order the DSS to release thirteen persons who were arrested in Sunday Igboho’s residence.

Meanwhile; the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has cautioned the Federal Government on the handling of the separate agitators in different parts of the country.

The PFN National President, Bishop Wale Oke, observed that the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu of the IPOB, and the clampdown on Sunday Igboho of the Yoruba Nation will not the agitations.

Instead, the clergyman advised the Nigerian government to practice good governance and ensure equity in participation and representation in government, as a means to end the agitations across the country.
