The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, has challenged security agencies to prepare for the 2023 general election.
Professor Yakubu wants the security agencies to repeat what they did during the governorship election in Anambra State in November 2021, which he said showed a high level of professionalism.
The INEC Chairman gave the charge during a meeting in Abuja with Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security.
He said the Anambra election would go down in history as a notable achievement, adding that the election was done peacefully despite tension and threats of violence.
