The Kogi State House of Assembly don vote in favour of one new law wey go make Local Government Councils fit dey stand on their own as e tek concern money mata.

The state lawmakers pass di Local Government Autonomy Bill, wey provide for di change of di 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Di Bill seek to abolish di Joint Account of di State and Local Governments, and to create different accounts for local governments.

The Deputy Speaker, ALFA RABIU wey preside over di mata yesterday, tok se di bill go still provide financial independence for di Local Government level.
