Kogi State threatens to take legal action against EFCC

The government of Kogi State has threatened to take legal action against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The threat is in reaction to a court order freezing the Salary Account of the Kogi State Government over a controversial bailout loan of twenty billion naira.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, said that the court action by the EFCC was meant to rubbish the image of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Kingsley Fanwo said that the bailout loan obtained by the government had been used for the payment of salaries since 2019.
