Ladipo spare part market traders suspect foul play in Friday night fire disaster

A committee has been set up to investigate the fire disaster at the Aguiyi Ironsi section of the Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The Chairman of the Traders Association, Emmanuel Mbamara confirmed the development in an interview with Lasgidi FM’s Chukwuemeka Obioma.

Emmanuel Mbamara said the nine-man investigative committee has five days to complete its assignment and submit its report to the Chairman of Mushin Local Government Council, Olanrewaju Bamigboye.

Speaking further; Emmanuel Mbamara revealed that about two hundred shops at the Aguiyi Ironsi International Market were destroyed by the fire on Friday night last week.

Meanwhile; some traders at the Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market have suggested that the fire disaster at the Aguiyi Ironsi section may not have been natural.

The traders told Lasgidi FM’s Chukwuemeka Obioma that they had been a disagreement to pull down some shops to build a shopping complex in the area where the fire happened.

The Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market also rejected the nine-man panel that was set up to investigate the fire disaster.

However; the Chairman of the Traders Association, Emmanuel Mbamara, denied knowledge of the claims by the traders.
