Lagos Anti-corruption law not meant to challenge EFCC: AGF

The Lagos State Government has provided more details about the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law, which was signed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, said the new law is not meant to replace the anti-corruption agencies of the Federal Government.

Onigbanjo observed that the federal anti-corruption agencies lack sufficient manpower to effective cover all parts of the country in the fight against corruption.

Onigbanjo, who spoke with Lasgidi FM News Desk on telephone, said the Lagos State Anti-Corruption Commission will complement the federal agencies, such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Lagos State Attorney General also explained that the new Anti-Corruption Commission Law has made provisions to ensure that there are no conflicts between the state and the federal agencies.
