Lagos Assembly urges President Buhari to tackle rising cases of insecurity

The Lagos State House of Assembly has sent a message to President Muhammadu Buhari to take steps to deal with the rising cases of insecurity in the country.

The Lagos State Assembly, which is dominated by the All Progressives Congress, took the decision following the adoption of a motion in plenary yesterday.

The Lagos State lawmakers want President Buhari to take some bold steps, including a reorganisation of the security architecture, as part of measures to deal with the problems.

The also want to see the creation of state police to bring law enforcement closer to the people and boost security at the grassroot.

The lawmakers made their positions known while discussing a matter of urgent public importance, which was raised by the Majority Leader, Sanai Agunbiade.
