Lagos begins clampdown of violators of Covid-19 guidelines

The Lagos State Government has started clamping down on people who arrive in the state from overseas countries without going through the laid down Covid-19 guidelines.

The guidelines require that international passengers who arrived in Nigeria must submit themselves for Day Two and Day Seven PCR tests.

The Director of Public Affairs in Lagos State Ministry of Health Ministry, Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, said those who failed to follow the guideline are being made to face the law.

Ogunbanwo said in a statement that the move became necessary as a result of the increasing rate of positive Covid-19 test cases

She quoted that Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, saying that the state government had recognised that previous waves were linked to non-compliance to testing guidelines by inbound passengers.
