Lagos CLO calls for emergency on security; criticizes Sars Panel

The Civil Liberties Organisation in Lagos State has added its voice to calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a national emergency on security

The Lagos State Branch of the CLO made the call after an emergency General Meeting, stressing that its decision was informed by the current security situation in Nigeria.

The CLO statement was jointly signed by its State Chairman, Ehi Omokhuale, and the State Secretary, Evelyn Akpa.

Speaking further in a telephone interview with Lasgidi FM News Desk, the Lagos CLO Chairman said the group observed that attacks by bandits, kidnappers and terrorists have eroded the safety of citizens across Nigeria.

Ehi Omokhuale said the Lagos CLO is also not happy with the handling of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution.

He said the resignation of some key members of the Panel and the reason for their actions should be addressed.
