Mixed reactions, as FG hands over National Arts Theatre to Banks

The Federal Government, over the weekend, handed over the National Theater in Surulere, Lagos, to the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers Committee for renovation. The creative industry stakeholders have been reacting different to the move.
Industry stakeholders who are excited about the move are hoping that it would translate the fortunes of theater and showbiz in Nigeria.
Producer of tourism-based Goge Africa, ISSAC MOSES, said the move to revive the National Theatre is coming at the right time.
On her part; popular female drummer, ARALOLA OLUMUYIWA APAKE, popularly known as ARA, said the government decision on the National Theatre in in the best interest of the country.
Also speaking; foremost flutist and former President of the Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, TEE MAC, called on the CBN to partner with key stakeholders in the renovation of the National Theatre.
Meanwhile; the Minister of Information and Culture, LAI MOHAMMED, said the Federal Government expects to create up to ten thousand jobs from the renovation of the National Theatre.
The number of jobs is expected to jump to one million in five years, according to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, GODWIN EMEFIELE.
