The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has set up a special task force to track down those behind the production and distribution of methamphetamine, popularly called “Mkpuru Mmiri” in the South-East.
NDLEA Chairman, retired Brigadier-General Buba Marwa disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja, as he marks his first year in office.
Meanwhile; he said the NDLEA last year arrested twelve thousand, three hundred and six suspects, including seven drug barons.
The NDLEA also seized over three-point-four million kilograms of different kinds of hard drugs; and recovered one hundred and thirty-billion-naira cash.
