Nigeria Air Force to launch newly acquired A-29 Super Tucano

The Nigerian Air Force has concluded plans to launch the newly acquired A-29 Super Tucano jets from the United States on Tuesday next week.

The Air Force Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said that the induction will take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet also confirmed in a statement that President Muhammadu Buhari would preside over the ceremony as the Special Guest of Honour.

This comes more than one month after six of the twelve A-29 Super Tucano aircraft arrived in Kano on July 22, 2021.

The Nigerian Air Force spokesman said the second batch of six remaining A-29 Super Tucano jets are expected in Nigeria before the end of the year.
