Operation show your driver’s licence; FRSC talks tough

This report says more than forty thousand people who drive vehicles on Lagos roads are without valid driver’s licence.

So says the Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp, Olusegun Ogungbemide.

The Corp Commander made this known in a review of the FRSC’s “Operation Show Your Driver’s Licence” exercise in Lagos.

Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide shared his views on Lasgidi FM’s news and current affairs programme – Tori-For-Town.

Meanwhile; many commercial drivers in Lagos are not aware of the ongoing “Operation Show Your Driver’s License” by the Federal Road Safety Corps.

Lasgidi FM’s Chukwuemeka Obioma spoke with some commercial bus drivers around the Bolade axis of Oshodi who had no idea of the ongoing clampdown on driver’s licence defaulters.

However; those who spoke with our man said they had obtained their driver’s licence and usually carry it with them when they go out for work daily.

However; others complained about the difficult process of getting the driver’s licence in Lagos State.

Meanwhile; FRSC officers have arrested four hundred and thirty-two motorists for driving without driver’s licence in Lagos State over the last two weeks.

They include two hundred and fifty-two commercial drivers, and one hundred and eighty private drivers.
